Seth Godin has a lot to say about this new time we are experiencing. In a recent article called Is digital the end of luxury brands? he shares that things are different now. There is a bigger emphasis on relationships and networks of relationships over products.
I think he has something here. Of course it’s not like everyone is “Awake in the Network” like Seth, but those who are awake are benefitting. For example, I continue to share with my clients and those with whom I present to at talks and those within my network, that the relationship trumps all those “things” that we used to think made us different . . . more . . . special.
Now, in this growing Age of the Relationship and Age of the Network, we are beginning to realize that people matter more than things. Have you heard your alarm clock ringing? If not, wake up! It’s time!
