Tip #91 – Have a Release Party!

This is one of those times where the saying “don’t flatter yourself” doesn’t apply.  Flatter yourself. Put yourself in the spotlight, no matter how “small” you think your book, town or twitter following is.  Here is a free excerpt from my new book, Lead Me to Success in Publishing:

Have a release party. If you have your book ready to go, do what the bigger publishers do – have a release party in your local community. You can invite all of your friends and family, and get press coverage for the event from your local press. When you do this, this continues to push your book into the market, allowing the biggest publishers to take notice of how successful you already are, even without their help.

How do you get more people to come? Ask each friend to bring two of their friends. If you invite then even 10 people you will end up with thirty if they each bring two friends. Now you can reach out the new people and ask them if they would like to sign up for your mailing list.

Did you like this tip? I encourage you to sign up for our Networlding newsletter and if you do, you will receive a FREE “Lead me to Success in Publishing” e-book  in its entirety!  OFFER AVAILABLE until October 10th.
