Promoting Your Book on Facebook and Instagram

Promoting Your Book On Facebook And Instagram

While you might already have a Facebook page for your personal use, you will also want to look into Facebook as a tool for publishing success. Instagram, also owned by Facebook, utilizes much of the same infrastructure but focuses on pictures, videos (in an attempt to compete with TikTok), and pictures accompanied by music.

SET UP AN AUTHOR/BUSINESS PAGE

You can begin by creating a separate page for either your book or for yourself, if you plan to create a series of books. You simply need to create a new page or group that will allow you to interact with your audience.

Go to a page or a group to which you already belong, and you’ll find on the left side a link to create your own page or group. Fill in the details and you’re ready to start inviting people to your group, where you can then engage with them regularly.

BE ACTIVE

It’s simply not enough to create a page and expect everyone to interact independently. You need to be instrumental in the activity that occurs on the page.

Whether you add links to your blog postings or update your status each day, you will want to ensure you’re on the page just as much as your audience may be.

A great way to approach this is to make sure you’re signing into the page and updating it during the time zones when most of your audience will also be active.

ANSWER YOUR MESSAGES

When you receive messages or comments on your Facebook page, you will want to reply to them as quickly as possible during your working hours.

(And at the beginning of your page, you might want to respond even more quickly and more frequently.)

By doing so, you will ensure that you appear as a reliable person and establish the ideal rapport with your audience.

ADVERTISE WITH META

You can also utilize the Facebook advertising system in order to reach even more audience members. All you need to do is sign up for Facebook’s advertising program (which is a paid service), and then advertisements for your book(s) will show up on pages where your likely audience members will be.

When they search for a specific keyword or indicate that they are active in the same markets, they will see your advertisement and be directed to your website or blog for more information, or to make a purchase.
