WHY #13 Of 101: Why It’s Not An Either-Or World

Why do so many people limit themselves thinking we live in an either-or world?

Look at what MCI did with their Friends and Family initiative. I can say though that MCI fizzled when those at the top did not build an ongoing, relationship-building strategy.

I remember talking with the head of the region for MCI sales years ago and offering to connect her to one of my top referral sources she responded, “Great! I’ll sell them our long-distance services!”

I replied, “Yes, we can do that but you could get a number of referrals from my referral source AND get them as a long-distance customer!”

What do you think? What examples do you know of to show you live in a yes-and world?
