The Trouble with Jobs Today and One Thing We Can Do About It

Last night’s debate was enlightening for me. I kept thinking of my recent visit to the St. Louis History Museum I recently visited with a good friend. I was taken by the walk through time during The Missouri Compromise that settled the question of slavery in the United States for many years. Its repeal brought about conflict that would lead to the Civil War.

What fascinated me about the exhibit was that it tore apart not just a country, but a state and even families. There was a quiz near the end of the exhibit where you could guess whether certain family members made their allegiances to their fathers who supported the Confederacy or perhaps their brothers who supported the Union. Time after time I got the answers wrong. It made me think about how confused we all are currently around our country’s leadership.
