Selling the Love: Social Networking at It’s Best

Selling The Love: Social Networking At It’s Best

I’m on an airplane flying from Charleston, South Carolina back to Chicago after visiting my two sisters there for a week. Thanks to Southwest Airlines, great trust-building agents (per Chris Brogan), I am now riffing off of Southwest’s magazine and its great article on Colleen Barrett, President Emeritus of Southwest.

She and Ken Blanchard of One Minute fame have just come out with a new book called “Lead with Luv.” This book is part of Blanchard’s “Leading at a Higher Level Series.” This book, being a “Poke the Box,” Seth Godin kind of book, puts customer service out as a leading initiative for growing vibrant companies.

While I use the line often now, “It”s always about the people,” Southwest makes my mantra sound like a whisper compared to their roar of fun and love–the top two values at Southwest.

So while I’m now in descent mode getting ready to land and, yes! turning off my iPhone that I blogged out this post on, I am saying happy thank you’s to a company that initiates all their day-to-day creations–creating one better customer relationship at a time with their essence of love.

Do you lead with love? I do. What other companies or leaders do you know that lead with love?

Hint: stay tuned for more on this subject as I share others who lead with love with some great stories from the past books, Angels in the Workplace, and more.
