The Power of Passion in Social Media Success

The Power Of Passion In Social Media Success

If you had only one BIG thing to accomplish this year what would that be?

I find that when you ask that question, you tap into the passion of most people and I think, “Gee. If I can help someone achieve a great success that would be something rewarding–something I can also share with others to help even more achieve success as success catalyzes even more success.”

Have you tried this? If so what results have you seen achieved?

For example, take my recent Networlding experience with John Fowler, my next co-author on our upcoming book, Graduate to LinkedIn: Jumpstart Your Career Support Network Now! (Networlding Publishing: May 2010) where John was on Twitter and was sharing his experiencing reading my Networlding book.

I was impressed that this twenty-nine year old really got how to network more effectively and that he valued it greatly. I then searched for and found him on LinkedIn. There I found a number to call him and picked up the phone and called. In Networlding I like to get to the point so I asked him the question, above. He was interested in talking further about collaborative ideas that included some kind of a book.

When we met we decided that the window of opportunity was now and that we should work together on a book for both those undergrads and graduate students graduating in May. No time like the present to help those in need of jobs in the upcoming months we both agreed.

Additionally, because I had done years of work on LinkedIn training, I was able to provide John with more than half the copy needed for the book. He was then able to add his own insights and, with lots of queries through LinkedIn and other social media sites, we’ve been able to get some great success stories from college grads.
