Social Media Innovation in Oprah’s Network

Social Media Innovation In Oprah’s Network

Today, in her final days before she moves on from two decades of making seemingly impossible things possible, Oprah is ending her show with a huge gift, one of the best gifts ever–the gift of education to 1000 children in Zimbabwe. She will be working with a wonderful woman named Tererai who is giving back to her own village of Zimbabwe, a school for the children who have, up until now, had to sit on the floor, daily, to learn their lessons.

No more old school, but a new school now will be built with the help of the organization, Save the Children. And with the help of sales from cool T-shirts created by Tererai, anyone can participate. So what does this mean in the Networlding world? It’s all about a “network effect” when people come together with similar and complementary values like the ultimate Oprah viewers. Without these amazing viewers who are also consumers of the products sold by the sponsors of The Oprah Show, there would be no money to give to make a difference.

At Networlding one of our sayings is “It’s all about the people.” Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes an audience to make a difference. So, thank you Oprah’s audience. Because of you, and I am one of them–an ultimate viewer as is my sister, Cari. Thank you all, you ultimate viewers!

Thank you for coming together, for sharing your stories about how one or another Oprah show moved you. The Net-Works when it comes to Oprah!
