Did You Know This About LinkedIn?

There are two features I must bring to your attention!

1. Projects Section. This is somewhat new and it’s a nifty addition.  Many of you have a summary and descriptions of your current and previous careers. But what about projects or endeavors that you’ve worked on where you developed a specific skill (or more!)? You don’t want to try to justify that in one sentence under a broad job description. Behold… Projects.

It’s simple: Go to Edit Profile and then under your basic profile with your picture, you will see “Add sections” in your experience section.  Click on “Projects”.  Describe the project, connect the team members, and add a relevant URL.  Plus, when you click on “add sections” you’ll find other types of sections you may want to add depending on their relevance.

2. Reachable. Now, this is quite extraordinary and still new to me. You can sign up with an account or log in with your LinkedIn account and it will pull all of your contacts as well from your Facebook, Outlook, and other e-mail contacts to form a large, visual network of who you know.  When you have an individual (or audience) in mind you want to target, Reachable’s database of over “65 million people and over one billion relationships” will help determine the best connection paths between you and that person.  You can also search for business relationships and connections that already exist.

Allow this image from Reachable to show you how truly great it is:
